Promo Round-up: Game of Hunting

Hu Ge’s most anticipated drama since the end of Nirvana in Fire in 2015Game of Hunting follows protagonist Zheng Qiudong’s journey from an idealistic entrepreneur to a skilled headhunter.

However, the path is far from smooth – his business fails after Bai Liqin’s (Zu Feng) death, and the teaser suggests he also spends time in prison after being betrayed by girlfriend (Jian Renzi). Thankfully Qiudong befriends wise inmate Liu Liangti (cameo by Sun Honglei), who points him in the right direction after he is released. The 45 episode drama begins airing tonight.

An introduction to the characters in The Rise of Phoenixes

Since The Rise of Phoenixes 凰权弈天下 has decided to release stills of the entire main cast, I might as well include some short descriptions for each character.

Co-directed by Shen Yan (The First Half of My Life) and Liu Haibo (Chinese Style Relationship), and scripted by Zou Yue (Guardian of Beauty), Wang Pei (I’m Not A Monster) and Qian Mi (Painted Skin II: The Resurrection, drama ver. Guns and Roses), the 70 episode drama is tentatively scheduled for a late-2018 premiere on Dragon TV and Zhejiang TV.

Shanghai’s gang lords unveiled in new teaser for Great Expectations

The new trailer for Great Exectations 远大前程 focuses on second generation mob bosses Huang Jinrong, Du Yuesheng and Zhang Xiaolin, played by veteran actors Ni Dahong (Intrude the Widow Village at Midnight), Zhao Lixin (Chinese Style Relationship) and Liu Yijun (Lost Love in Times) respectively.

Hu Ge’s new drama Game of Hunting 猎场 (previously translated as Hunting Ground) is finally going to see the light of day after a lengthy legal dispute between the production company and broadcasters Hunan TV and LeTV, and has released an official trailer ahead of its premiere in the third quarter of the year.
