Music Monday: Last Monday of 2014

Here to make Monday a little easier =)

Good Morning Last Monday of 2014! Thanks idarklight for keeping Music Monday as consistent as possible! Here’s to consistency in 2015! …

Another cute acoustic song to add to my playlist. Really, I should just rename the playlist as My 徐良 Xu Liang. His new album 《我》, a composite of ten duets, features a different female artist on each song, from Guo Jing to Happy Camp’s Wu Xin. Seriously! How does this happen? I Will Be OK features Xiao Yan Zi 李晟 Li Chen.

Can you translate Cong Cong Na Nian?

6e2d21b3jw1ejzmt92h6pj20zk0npdj0

“Back in Time” not cool enough for Ni Ni?   Come up with you own!

The film version of Cong Cong Na Nian 匆匆那年 is calling for English titles with a reward! Can you come up with a better English title for the Zhang Yibai film starring Ni Ni (#beautiful), Eddie Peng, and Wei Chen?

Since we’re on the subject, what are some of your favorite English translations? Least favorites?  I nominate My Fair PrincessThe Last Supper, and upcoming drama All Quiet in Peking for the former and Love Yunge from the Desert, The Journey of Flower for the latter.

Back in Time or That Year, Time Flew (匆匆那年) is written by Jiu Ye Hui (九夜茴) and has recently been adapted into movie and web version. The story revolves around a group of friends who were close friends during high school but after graduation, their friendship changes. In the group, Chen Xun and Fang Hui are a couple and their break-up will cause the group to go on separate ways. More information of the novel can be found here.

Weibo Wednesday: March 19, 2014

胡歌: 明天阿苏就要被蔺晨收拾了 今天赶紧出来放放风 药可以不吃 雪不可不赏

What better way to start off this week’s Weibo Wednesday round-up than with pretty Hu Ge? An unofficial trailer for his upcoming drama Nirvana in Fire (琅琊榜) was leaked yesterday, and although the video doesn’t really reveal much (people flouncing! people walking! people darting around with swords!), at least it gives us some nice shots of Hu Ge.

Tomorrow Ah Su [Hu Ge’s character] is going to get sorted out by Lin Chen. Today, I hurriedly went out to get some fresh air. Medicine you don’t necessarily have to eat, but snow you cannot not appreciate.

Hightlights from HNTV New Year Concert 2013-2014

HNTV 2014 NYC

Happy New Year!! What’s a new year celebration without a few good concerts? Lets begin with the always energetic and youthful Hunan TV New Year Concert. Hosted by Happy Camp and Day Day Up MCs (as usual), this year’s concert should really be called a family concert since almost everyone are affiliated with HNTV in someway.

idarklight‘s favorite performance might be the cuteness overload from Zhang Liang and Tian Tian, but my favorite performance of the night has to be the special rendition of Ylvis’s The Fox by Superboy 2013. Performed by Bai Jugang 白举纲, Jia Shengqiang 贾盛强, Ning Huanyu 宁恒宇, Rao Wei 饶威. Supergirl 2011 (Fu Mengni 付梦妮, Hong Chen 洪辰, Liu Meihan 刘美含, Zu Miaoling 苏妙玲) also joined the quartet at the end.

The full concert is available on HNTV’s Official Youtube Channel, below at a few highlight acts from the night.
