Weibo Wednesday: April 13, 2016

A quick Weibo roundup this time, but with a good share of celebs getting silly, celebs getting hitched, and one celeb getting mistaken for his spouse’s parent.

Zhao Liying channeling her inner dragon

Some of you have probably heard of the song “Descendants of the Dragon” (龙的传人), originally written by Hou Dejian and later covered by several artists including Wang Leehom. Well, it seems being a descendant of the dragon also means having a voracious appetite, as adorably depicted by Zhao Liying.

I’m a descendant of the dragon

Weibo Wednesday: January 6, 2016

To say this Weibo Wednesday is a little overdue is a huge understatement, considering there’s a post dating back to Halloween LOL. But oh well, better late than never, right? Happy New Year to everyone, and let’s have a quick recap of the past two months.

Tian Liang's son

Who is this cutie you’ve probably never seen? The answer is Tian Xinchen, the son of Tian Liang and the younger brother of Cindy Tian Yucheng. Wikipedia claims he was born on April 13, 2012, which would make him three years old, but that doesn’t explain why Tian Liang posted Xinchen’s birthday cake photo in early November.

Anyhoo, this is the first time (I believe) that we’ve gotten a look at Tian Liang’s son, so take a good look! He’s a real cutie.

Hello, everybody, let’s get to know one another! I am one in a family of four, and my most beautiful mother and sister prepared a cake for me. My ugliest father tried to steal the limelight from me, so I Photoshopped him out.

Zhang Han and Gulinazha kissing in front of a bus

If you follow any of the younger Chinese actors, you probably already know about this news: Zhang Han more or less announced that he was dating Gulinazha, his costar from the upcoming The Classic of Mountains and Seas The Weibo post is just a photo of the two kissing in front of a passing bus, with a simple message saying “Rat loves Monkey” (referring to their zodiac animals) and tagging Gulinazha, but it’s a low-key and sweet way to go public.

Weibo Wednesday: April 8, 2015

Funnily enough, since our last round-up, Weibo got a huge boost in Western media when BuzzFeed writer Matt Stopera blogged out about how Chinese netizens helped him find the man who ended up with his stolen iPhone. The story is pretty long, but it’s a good read for anyone who likes a dose of bromance. C: Everything else in this round-up seems pretty tame in comparison.

Kimi Qiao with giant bear plush

Kimi Qiao with a giant bear! He and Cruel Romance costar Huang Xiaoming recently showed up on Happy Camp, which ended up being one of the highest-rated episodes in recent years. You can also catch him romancing actress Xu Lu in the upcoming reality show, We Are in Love (我们相爱吧), a.k.a. the Chinese version of We Got Married.

Benefits are here! Sending you all… a little devil [literally, a bear child].

Dad! Where did Cindy go?

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it!

Going head-to-head with the upcoming film “Where are we going? Dad II” will be another comedy from the dads of the first season – Emperor’s Vacation The film is directed by Wang Yuelun, and notably misses Cindy, but has a guest star from Tian Liang. Wang Yuelun isn’t the best director, so we’ll see how it goes. If anything, the kids will be cute, even if it is scripted.

To those of you who celebrate it, happy early Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast as much as Wang Leehom is enjoying his.

Wang Leehom about to enter Thanksgiving food coma

I practiced violin for the entire evening, and when I walked out of the recording studio, I saw this display… too moving! A Thanksgiving feast personally prepared by my wife, so tasty. I wish that everyone will have a Thanksgiving full of love.

And if that’s not enough meat for you, Vicki Zhao Wei has you covered…

Dad, where’s Photoshoot Friday?

A mini PF of some dad members. Tiantian (Angela) and Tiantian are so cute promoting their upcoming movie “Daddy’s Vacation” at the Fusan Film that I might switch ship, while Tian Liang and Cindy are adorable in a forest/school photoshoot. Meanwhile, Bei’er of season 2 puts up her hair in a bun in a beautiful photoshoot for Grazia with mom Bao Lei. Continue reading

Cindy, your dad and mom fell into the water!

Remember how Cindy had a cuteness competition with the cetaceans at the zoo? Her dad Tian Liang went right into the waters of Palau and swam against a backdrop of sharks. He and Cindy’s mom Ye Yiqian held hands and danced with jellyfish, as these snapshots attest.

To see more of Tian Liang swimming or in the water…you could watch his new drama Sunshine in Me 骄阳似我. Here, he plays Lin Feng, whose idyllic home is broken when his mother mysteriously runs away from home. His father, who loved his mother deeply, stops caring about him and his brother. Thanks to the introduction of Su Xiaoke (Yi Yi), Lin Feng goes on to join an athletic team as a swimmer, while his neglected brother feels the need to prove his worth through succeeding as an athlete. They later find that Lin Feng’s mother is in prison, while Su Xiaoke is the brothers’ amnesiac half sister?
