Jolin Tsai ended March on a sharp note with a sexy and alluring photo shoot with Vogue Magazine for their June issue. Besides being on the cover page, stills of her traveling segment to Paris are thrown in the issue as well, with photos and behind the scenes exclusives.
Jolin Tsai has finally opened the lid and released the MV for the song she has been working on with Namie Amuro called I’m Not Yours. For this latest album, Jolin collaborated with the Blonds, the American designing team who has worked along side artists such as Beyoncé and Katy Perry.
Being a fan of The Legend of Zhen Huan, Jolin has followed up hits from her new album Play(呸) such as the SIMS inspired PLAY我呸, Phony Queen, We’re all different, yet the same feat Ruby Lin, and Medusa
feat Pepsi, with a more Chinese period-inspired MV… and feat Namie Amuro, who plays her sister fox spirit in the MV.

Thanks to the addition of Vivian Dawson, Tiny Times 3.0 got a new theme song from Jolin Tsai. The song, Kaleidoscope 万花瞳, is blocked on YouTube, but you can watch the MV on LeTV here. What do you think? How does it compare to previous theme songs by Sodagreen and Yu Kewei?
More stills featuring Yang Mi, Amber Kuo, Bea Hayden, Xie Yilin, and Lee Hyunjae below the cut.
It’s Monday again! This week we have two great live performances from G.E.M. and Jolin Tsai, Xu Liang wants a Peaceful Breakup, Li Daimo is hurt, Ramen Boy Lu Hu.
Almost 20 years since her passing, is Teresa Teng still the best Chinese singer?
Last week, Liang Huan 梁欢, who is probably a man, compiled a list of Chinese singers on
her his Weibo, allocating points in increments of five, alongside some brutally honest criticism (e.g., Jolin Tsai: “dance moves accompanied by bad vocals”). Since then, her his post has been retweeted—or the Weibo equivalent—tens of thousands of times. Some fans, notably those of Han Geng, have derided the low scores of their idols.

“And now, it’s time to witness a miracle.”
With those words, Liu Qian aka Lu Chen ends his performance like he always does. Liu Qian, China’s favorite magician, was one of the two performers (the other one being Xiao Shenyang) that made their big break during this year’s CCTV New Year Gala. With his popularity came the rise of magic shows all across China.
The first of those is Hunan TV’s jin pai mo shu tuan/Golden Magic Troupe. The show, hosted by Wang Han, invites amateur magicians to come and compete for a chance to apprentice one of the four judges – Liu Qian and three magicians from Hong Kong, Japan and Mexico. Think Super Girls/Boys for magicians.
Anhui TV stated that it would invest in a drama that is a mix of Meteor Garden and Prince Turns Frog last week. According to the news article, the drama is mostly Taiwanese in nature, with its production team from Taiwanese CTV (which did the original Meteor Garden), but it will be purchased by Anhui TV. The producer stated that “Jerry Yan has already agreed to being the lead, though age is an issue.” The main actresses was to be chosen between Chen Qiaoen and Jolin Tsai.
In a later article, Anhui TV corrected themselves by saying that it is an original script about a poor girl and two rich guys, though they will look to dramas like Meteor Garden and Prince Turns Frog for guidance. Furthermore, they might look to mainland for the supporting actors and actresses. While the Meteor Garden rumor is definitely false, the rest could potentially be true, though still unlikely. But then, Anhui TV has been mainland’s exclusive channel for Jungiery(Mingdao, Qiaoen) dramas. Continue reading
Elle : Earlier, you guys both said you liked sweet cute girls. Would you ever fight over the same girl?
Jing (steals mic): Jiejie*older sis*, let me tell you, that will never happen! Once, we were singing Male KTV, and Baozi *little meat bun aka Fu Xinbo* saw that the MTV was about two xiongdi*brothers aka bff’s* fighting over a girl, and was he mad! He was angry about it the whole night. It cracked me up….if he can’t even accept a MV like that but was very serious and very mad about it, how could that ever happen in real life?
Elle China’s special “double” edition included an article on the two perfect duos of Huayi- Yu Quan and BOBO. Forgive me for not putting up Yu Quan’s interview, who’s far ahead of BOBO in terms of singing and composing, but they have no fangirls to scan their stories. Expect more BOBO friendship cuteness in the Baidu awards post coming soon.
