Go Fighting! 极限挑战 is one of the two variety shows I follow religiously (the other being Who’s the Murderer? 明星大侦探), and Season 3 of the popular variety show is finally ready to premiere tomorrow night.
Sun Honglei, Huang Bo, Huang Lei, Show Luo, Wang Xun and Lay Zhang Yixing are all returning for the latest installment, and I’m looking forward to seeing them tackle more fish-out-of-water scenarios over the next twelve weeks.
Here’s a trailer for Midnight Diner, the official remake of Shinya Shokudo by Yaro Abe. Huang Lei (variety show Happy Life) takes on the role of the mysterious Master, the owner of a restaurant that only accepts customers between midnight and 7am.
Fun fact: Zhang Huiwen portrayed an (ex)ballerina in her debut film (Coming Home), and again in this upcoming youth film, but she actually majored in folk dance.
Rising actress Zhang Huiwen (Gong Li and Chen Daoming’s daughter in Coming Home) is co-starring with Li Yifeng in a new movie, Forever Young (literally The Gardenia Blooms). Xu Nuo (Li Yifeng) and Yan Qi (Zhang Huiwen) are a greatly admired couple in college. Xu Nuo is famous for being the lead singer for the band “Gardenia,” while Yan Qi dreams of dancing. She has the opportunity to leave the country and dance abroad, but reality becomes an obstacle, and Xu Nuo tries to cheer her up by preparing a surprise…yet this “surprise” forces these impulsive youths to pay a significant price.
The theme song was sung by Angela Wang Shiling (Dad, Where Are You?) and the director of the movie, He Jiong! Look below the cut for more pictures. Li Yifeng also lends his voice for two theme songs. Continue reading →
Get your Forever (Young) Stamps now and use them any time!
Host He Jiong‘s directorial debut Forever Young栀子花开2015 finished filming last month and released a set of character posters. The film focuses on the story of a high school (?) band consisting of Li Yifeng, Jiang Jinfu, Zhang Yunlong, Chai Ge, Calvin Du . The female cast is stellar cast of film leads, including Coming Home‘sZhang Huiwen ,The Rooftop‘s Li Xin’ai, Summer of Bubbles‘ Zhang Yuxi, and Song Yi.
It seems like everyone’s becoming a director these days, but I don’t mind if these celebs are all using their fame to promote young and talented actors. Also Zhang Yuxi is gorgeous.
Okay, it’s only fair that the Dads of Season 2 (or…I guess, just Lu Yi and Huang Lei) get a Photoshoot Friday for themselves. Except, look at who cameos at the end…!
Lu Yi and Bei’er are adorable for their Daddy and little girl photoshoot. Huang Lei and Duo Duo not only got to reunite with mommy Sun Li (not Deng Chao’s wife, you might know this Sun Li as Liu Yifei’s queen mother from Chinese Paladin) in the show, she also makes an appearance in the family’s photoshoot for Fashion Weekly – Duo Duo really strikes the model poses here. Personally, though, I like her photoshoot with Men’s Style more, where they dress her more like a little girl and not like a mini version of Lily (Tiny Times). Continue reading →
Do you like National Geographic but with cute kids in the scene? A Bite of China but with hotter chefs?Where are we going? Dad season 2 has it covered!
So far, I’ve already fallen for Duoduo from the trailers alone, and episode one only confirmed it. As the oldest, she acts really assertive and cool, but seems super nice and sweet on the inside. Bei’er is also a little angel, scared to see others being hurt, but although willing to help everyone and to share. Yang Yangyang is as shy as usual, and is especially cute when he was so happy to see Feymann come to visit, but then went Pokerface as soon as Feymann actually showed up. I keep getting Feymann and Joe confused …
Also, who would’ve thought the pretty boy Lu Yi was the jokester of the group?
Season two of 2013’s breakout show Where are we going? Dad begins airing on Friday. On Father’s Day today, the show released yet another set of posters of the kids with their dads Lu Yi, Huang Lei, Gary Cao, Yang Wei, and Francis Ng.
The second season to 2013’s number one variety show, Where are we going? Dad Season will begin airing on the 20th and stars Francis Ng, Gary Cao, Huang Lei, Lu Yi, Yang Wei, and guest starring people like Yao Ming.
I think these hands down win best variety show posters ever. The quality of these posters, probably by ee-Media’s N13Studio, are better than most film posters nowadays. Continue reading →
