Zheng Shuang, Ma Tianyu cast in Cry Me A Sad River

Cry Me A Sad River 悲伤逆流成河 reunites Zheng Shuang with the producers and writers of Rush to the Dead Summerand her Beauty Private Kitchen costar Ma Tianyu.

The source novel is penned by Guo Jingming, and tells of a heart-wrenching romance between a pair of childhood friends. The drama has chosen to go down the heart-warming route though, so expect major changes to the plot (read: no committing suicide, teen pregnancy and abortions).  Read some of our translated excerpts here.

  4. Cracked up when I saw the English title. Idk, I can only picture that phrase being delivered as a sarcastic retort – “Oh boo hoo, cry me a sad, sad river” 😂

  5. I can’t think of one heartwarming scene in this entire book past the moment he moved away in chapter one.

    I mean, it was heartwarming when her mom went to get her money, but then she falls to her death at the end of that scene, so ….

  6. Ok this is a very hard novel to get right so I hope they do a good job because I really like this book and share this story with a lot of ppl. Hopefully they don’t go to far from the book and keep the important message the book is trying to convey to ppl.
