JULY 8, 2012 | POSTED IN MOVIES, TAGGED JIANG YIYAN, ZHANG JINGCHU, ZHOU DONGYU

Three women, three cities, three love stories

How does 520 translate into “I love you”? Wu er ling, wo ai ni, the phonetics come close enough that 520 expresses I love you. This is the theme for Elle’s new series of mini-films, starring Zhang Jingchu, Jiang Yiyan, and Zhou Dongyu.  Under the direction of Gia Coppola, Zhang Jingchu and Robert Schwartzman meet in one of Las Vegas’ casinos inCasino Moon. Joan Chen directs Jiang Yiyan as she recounts an old story in “Shanghai Strangers” (watch on Youku here). Then there’s the enviable Zhou Dongyu, in “Miao Shan and the Minoutar”. How many of us get to go to Paris and meet up with a cute French guy, played by Niels Schneider? Watch the primarily black and white mini-film below. Stills from the series can be seen below the cut.  IR
