The cast went to Japan to film several episodes of “Bravely Going Forward,” though Zhang Han was unable to go due to visa problems. One episode of Yu Haoming, Wei Chen and Wang Yuexin in the show has been aired, though not filmed in Japan.
Zhang Han is rumored to be going to new company Shengshi, and has a 75% chance of playing ErKang in the Huan Zhu Ge Ge remake.
Other than being in Zhang Jie’s MV, Zheng Shuang should also be starring in a new drama called “Jello of love/Ai Qing Guo Dong.” (more…)

What do world-class pianoists Li Yundi, Super Girl and Boys Li Yuchun (1st), He Jie (4th), Tan Weiwei(2nd), Wei Chen(3rd), Top Combine’s Ma Xueyang, Pan Hongyue and Alan Dawadolma all have in common?
They came from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, the school we’re all biased for. In an unofficial count, around half of all mainland singers who have good vocals are either from Sichuan or went to the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. In the last four Super Girl/Boy competitions, 9 out of the 16 top 4 singers fit in the above category.
For their school’s birthday, Li Yuchun, He Jie and Wei Chen performed free on the 14th in a “national singing competition winner’s concert” hosted by the school of pop music. Li Yundi performed at another concert on the 13th.
Here’s to Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Happy birthday, and may you produce many more talented students.
Wei Chen singing a song that really grew on me, but may never be released because Le Huo Nan Huo didn’t do good enough.

The Super Boys Musical airing on the 29th also features self-compositions by the boys.
Other than exceeding almost everyone’s expectations in terms of acting, scenery and script, Meteor Shower’s other big plus is its music. The OST also shows off eemedia’s composing talents by featuring at least two (possibly four) insert songs composed by their very own Wei Chen and Lu Hu.
Wei Chen is the co-composer/co-producer of his official insert song – “Replacement lover.” Lu Hu wrote the background vocal, which Wei Chen also sung. He also has another insert song called “Rain Marks” that he composed himself that’s not in the official OST but at a little after 3 minutes in this trailer. Lu Hu composed Zhang Han’s insert song, for which he is also the background vocalist. And if this trailer is an indication of the insert songs in the drama, the song at around 13 minutes is called “that idiot is me.” That song is also composed by Lu Hu, with Wei Chen writing the lyrics.
Wei Chen and Lu Hu aren’t the only Super Boys releasing self-compositions recently. Allen Su Xing also released his present for the 60th birthday of the PRC, named China China: (more…)
no, you did not accidentally venture into a forbidden website. This was too awstrucking to not put up.
Along with H4&Xun, Xu Fei also went to Changsha to advertise for Meteor Shower, including the fanmeeting and Happy Camp. She sings the ending theme song, which will be her upcoming EP. Watch it here. Also recently released are Zhang Jie’s MV for “Overheard” , Yu Haoming and Zheng Shuang’s Meteor Shower/Qing Hua Tong Fang iMini MV, and part of the Super Girls 2009 MV. The first has a good song and a good MV; the second has a cute MV, a sweet song, but unfit voices; the third had everything except someone who could mix the girl’s voices together.
Instead of talking about the good albums that have been released, I’m going to talk about one that was a disappointment, because it was one of the ones I was most looking forward to this summer. I love Red Songs. It doesn’t really matter in my opinion that they were “Red” propaganda, nor is it fair to the people who worked on them to ignore them as such. Especially those pre-Cultural Revolution, because I think some of China’s finest composers came out during that time, including my favorite Chinese composer of all time, Lei Zhenbang who was just genius.
Then eeMedia began releasing songs from this album one by one on Sohu’s website. And one by one my excited died. This album just sucked, largely due to poor song choice and bad producing by Zhang Yadong. That’s right, Zhang Yadong produced this album and he sucked at it.
Chen Kun and Yuan Quansponsor a jewelry brand in style at an event, with Yuan Quan in white riding a horse, and Chen Kun giving her a ring, like a modern day prince and princess, except that pretending to marry was really awkward for them. Normally I wouldn’t care, but it’s two actors that I like, both of which whom actually have really nice singing voices and I’ve long wished they would collaborate in something like a musical. They will be working together, but instead will be in a HK film.
Jane Zhang held her Japan Premier Showcase on March 29th. The arrangements for the songs were energetic and playful, and she pulled them off like a pro. She also performed a Japanese version of “light in darkness” (more…)
Charming, young, handsome and definitely talented, “Tiger cub” Lu Hu announced on his blog last week that he’ll be joining the cast of Meteor Shower. A closer look at Lu Hu and a belated introduction of the full cast (for now) of Meteor Shower.
Demos of three unreleased songs by Lu Hu
Lu Hu is what one might call the unlucky 13th. One of the most prolific, if not the best, songwriters in Super Boys(Wang Yuexin says Lu Hu has written “enough songs for four albums”), Lu Hu has released exactly two of his own songs. Sure, many of his songs has made it into other people’s albums and voices : Wei Chen’s “Lunatic’s wish” and “Little Happiness,” Huang Yali’s “Yellow Little Flower,” Zhang Jie’s “Disappear,” and many theme songs for events and variety shows, but it’s hard to not notice Lu Hu’s lack of his own works.

Meteor Shower is a co-production between Hunan TV, EE Media and Beijing Chunqiu. The drama plans to be aired this summer. It will be directed by Taiwanese director of “The Outsiders” and the script took the team of Wang Hanlin over a year to finish. EE Media CEO Long Danni stated that “Meteor Garden” is a combination of the best production team from both sides of the strait.
The director of the drama, He Hanchen, is that of the popular Taiwanese series “The Outsiders.” He said that when choosing the actors, he was not forced to pick the Super Boys. Instead, he said that he picked them for their smiles among a group of candidates. When asked about the complaints of the drama before it even began, he replied, ” I don’t care. I only care that this drama will make people cry and laugh. If it can do that, it’s a good drama.”
