Sigh…because of this site I have so many movies, dramas that I am looking forward to , that I may not actually have time to watch. “Lian Ai Ba” is one of them. I have a lot of affection for all of the actors, and it’s nice to see a mature modern day romance about adults refinding love. So even if I’m a little wary of the first-time director, I will definitely be following  this. And Chen Kun and Lu Yi in suits? Just two words: So shuai!

Fusion Band

After being inactive for half a year, Fusion will be back with a second album. When asked why the long absence, their company said that they’ve been concentrating on their next album which is reaching the end stages of its production. Now they’ll be starting performances again to warm up for their new release.

This is probably the best music news in this batch, the rest are just sad ones about company matters.

“Lian Ai Ba” Begins Production

L-R Director, Chen Kun, Yuan Quan, Debbie Goh, and Lu Yi

Remember when I said Chen Kun and Yuan Quan were going to star in something? Well, production commenced, and the other two cast members are Lu Yi and Debbie Goh! That’s quite a cast, and those first three names are all so good at singing that I’m crying that this isn’t a musical.  But that’s okay, because it’s a romantic comedy, which isn’t a genre I’m adverse to. “Liang Ai Ba” (Dating) is based off a hugely popular novel about a love triangle between a divorced woman, her ex-husband and his best friend. Go below for synopsis and some pictures from filming.

BOBO was kept busy recently with the release of their show, NONSTOP, and celebrated their two year anniversary with the release of a new photo diary that I’ve already added to my list of goodies to buy. They also wrote loving speeches to each other.

This is a really big post, so check it out !

Chen Kun and Yuan Quan sponsor a jewelry brand in style at an event, with Yuan Quan in white riding a horse, and Chen Kun giving her a ring, like a modern day prince and princess, except that pretending to  marry was really awkward for them. Normally I wouldn’t care, but it’s two actors that I like, both of which whom actually have really nice singing voices and I’ve long wished they would collaborate in something like a musical. They will be working together, but instead will be in a HK film.

My Youth succeeds without struggle

The ladies of Who Controls My Youth

The companion piece to the immensely popular “idol drama” StuggleWo De Qing Chun Shui Zuo Zhu/who controls my youth?,  easily reached the popularity of its prequel. So popular, in fact, that the director has announced a third in the series – Bei Jing Shao Nian/ Beijing youth.

This drama would be to Meteor Garden, what BOBO is to Top Combine. The first two are quintessentially Chinese, no offense meant to the others. It has all the romance, young cast and plot-twists of a typical K/J/TWdrama, but I love its capturing of a more complete picture and thus greater audience range by involving three generations and  multiple plotlines. At the same time, it also caters to the idol drama audience. The filming and costumes are also high-qualitied, and the dialogue is cleverly written, layering the drama, and giving it the nuances that make it one of those dramas that can be watched over and over. Synopsis below the line.

Lu Yi and Bao Lei explains true love

March 30, 2009

ly4

One of the most flawless love stories in the entertainment world, translated by the wonderful dbskholic. Thank you so much!

When asked the question of ‘How do you comprehend love?’ Lu Yi thought deeply from a very long time before giving a response of ‘when you miss someone.’ He added to that by saying, ‘when you leave you’ll start to miss her even if it was just for one day, I believe that this is love.’

Having been together for almost a decade, Lu Yi still feels very reluctant when leaving Bao Lei to go to work. He starts that, whenever he leaves Shanghai to go to work, he will start to feel grieved when he check in every time at the airport. Every time he finishes work the first person he will call will be Bao Lei saying, ‘I will come home tomorrow’, and she’ll respond by saying, ‘really? That’s great, I’ve missed you’. He believes that this is true love.
